Red Blend
Taste: Red fruit, black fruit, spice, earth & many others.
Style: Blend of red grapes (i.e. Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot). Vary in flavor, body, acidity & alcohol content.
Description: Red blends are prepared from a variety of red grapes. Traditional blends such as Bordeaux or Chianti can simply be produced following old-age practices. Aging potential varies, though many high-quality red blends can be aged in oak or bottle.
Food Pairing: Meats such as black pepper steak, roasted pork, filet mignon, venison, duck, beef brisket, goose or buffalo burgers. Cheeses like Swiss, white cheddar, provolone or pepper jack.
